Parent Involvement Program (PIP)

What does the Parent Involvement Program (PIP) do?  PIP Creates fun, has fun and raises FUNds!  This is a great opportunity at CRMS for parents to engage at the Middle School level and stay involved through communications, fun family events and incredible volunteer opportunities.

Events that we plan include the Annual Boo-Bash, Parent Teacher Conference Teacher Dinners, Arts Night, Spring "Flip-Flop Formal" Dance, CRMS Gallup and the 8th Grade BBQ.  We also love the entire CRMS Staff and seek to provide them with fun treats and surprises throughout the year to thank them for all they do for our kids!

Why join PIP?  Research shows that when parents are involved in their child's school, they tend to perform better in school, stay in school longer and enjoy school more. Become involved in the PIP to help us partner with teachers to make CRMS the best experience for our kids!

When do you meet? We generally meet once a month for one hour.  Please join us to hear what is happening in our school, how it is impacting our students and how you can be part of the movement for improvement!  Meetings are from 4:30-5:30PM, and we usually meet virtually to make it easier for more parents to participate.

If I cannot make the meetings, can I still be involved?  ABSOLUTELY!  We would love to have you volunteer your time and creativity and do not require participation at meetings to do so.  If you would like to receive our monthly communications emails, simply email [email protected] or click HERE and we will add you to our distribution list!

What are some examples of Volunteer Opportunities that you offer?  Below are examples of various opportunities.  Interested?  Email us HERE and let us know!  Someone will be in touch with you to give you more information.

Special Events: Help organize and execute the Student Events! Events include our Annual Boo Bash, CRMS Gallup, 8th Grade Celebration and the Annual Spring Dance. Have new ideas? Let us know!

Staff Appreciation: Staff appreciation is a series of activities throughout the year that show the teachers and staff how much we value their work. Happy teachers=happy students! In the past, we have served burritos on the first day of school, held a week of treats for Teacher Appreciation Week and have organized dinners for Parent Teacher Conferences. The opportunities are endless! Other ideas include Birthday Recognition, Monthly Treat Cart and any other idea that supports the staff!

General Fundraising:  Do you have the gift of organization? On this committee you can help manage a host of fundraising activities and help us consider and research new fundraising opportunities! Every dollar counts. Past fundraising activities include Money Stalls, Spirit Nights (KNIGHTS), Coffee Drives and Box Tops.

Business Relations:  Help us to approach businesses for monetary and non-monetary donations. Items include sponsoring various events, obtaining pledge donations and non-monetary items such as food, prizes, etc.

PIP Communications:  Join this committee if you have a passion for information output. We are looking for an opportunity to capitalize on technology to coordinate and communicate important information. Be part of helping all of our parents to be “in the know”.

PIP Member Appreciation: Help us thank those who have helped us! This committee will be charged with writing thank you letters to our donors, sponsors, businesses, staff and parent volunteers.

PIP Membership/Recruiting:  Help us process and recruit new volunteers for PIP. Attend events to meet and greet new parents.
