8th Sir Lancelot

Welcome to Team Lancelot

Introduce your team

Megan Wilcox - Social Studies, mwilcox@dcsdk12.org
This is my second year teaching Social Studies at Castle Rock Middle School. I previously taught sixth grade Social Studies in my home state of Virginia. Growing up in a historic state engrained my love of history at an early age. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from West Virginia University, Let’s Go Mountaineers! Then, I attended The College of William and Mary where I earned my Master of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband and dog, reading, skiing, taking photographs, and hiking.

Shari Lewis - Language Arts, srlewis@dcsdk12.org
This is my 19th year of teaching at Castle Rock Middle School. I have taught for a total of 23 years. A crazy fact about me is that I am certified to teach Language Arts, History and Physical Education. What can I say, I love my job. I grew up in Littleton and went on to UNC for my bachelors degree. I received my Master in Curriculum & Instruction. I have many hobbies such as coaching, being a gym “rat”, and a love for Labs. My claim to fame is that I coached Mallory Pugh in high school. She currently plays for our National team and just won the World Cup in France.

Melinda Highsmith- Math, mkhighsmith@dcsdk12.org
I was born and raised in Colorado.  I went to school at Colorado State University, go RAMS!  I have been teaching for almost 30 years and almost 20 of those have been at CRMS.  I have 2 adult children, Julia and Jeremy, and one grandchild, Eden.  I coach volleyball and have coached flag football, cross country, and basketball.  My passion is helping animals in need.  I have 4 rescued Siberian Huskies that rule my world.  A good day is when a student gets a math topic, my dogs got to go to the dog park and I get to see my family.

Alison Gordon - Science, aagordon@dcsdk12.org
This is my thirteenth year teaching Science at CRMS.  I grew up in Castle Rock and went to Castle Rock Middle School and Douglas County High School.  I received both a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Master of Arts in Teaching  from Colorado College.  I coach volleyball, basketball, and track at CRMS.

Communication Plan for team

Welcome to Sir Lancelot! We are so excited to have you and your student on our team. Lancelot is a team that celebrates the diversity of our student body and works to be inclusive both in and outside of the classroom. Our goal is to foster a community of academic excellence where students respect themselves and their peers. To help foster this community the teachers will use Infinite Campus to send weekly communication. Each teacher uses Google Classroom to communicate assignments and materials to students. Grades are recorded in Infinite Campus. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have. We look forward to partnering with you and working toward your student's success!
