Sir Lancelot Team Video Introduction

Melinda Highsmith- Math, mkhighsmith@dcsdk12.org

I was born and raised in Colorado.  I went to school at Colorado State University, go RAMS!  I have been teaching for almost 30 years and almost 20 of those have been at CRMS.  I have 2 adult children, Julia and Jeremy, and one grandchild, Eden.  I coach volleyball and have coached flag football, cross country, and basketball.  My passion is helping animals in need.  I have 4 rescued Siberian Huskies that rule my world.  A good day is when a student gets a math topic, my dogs got to go to the dog park and I get to see my family.

Alison Gordon- Science, aagordon@dcsdk12.org

This is my thirteenth year teaching Science at CRMS.  I grew up in Castle Rock and went to Castle Rock Middle School and Douglas County High School.  I received both a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Master of Arts in Teaching  from Colorado College.  I coach volleyball, basketball, and track at CRMS.

Shari Lewis- Social Studies, srlewis@dcsdk12.org

This is my 20th year of teaching at Castle Rock Middle School. I have taught for a total of 23 years. A crazy fact about me is that I am certified to teach Language Arts, History, and Physical Education. I was asked this year to teach Social Studies to help out the school. What can I say, I love my job. I grew up in Littleton and went on to UNC for my bachelors degree. I received my Master in Curriculum & Instruction. I have many hobbies such as coaching, being a gym "rat", and a love for Labs. My claim to fame is that I coached Mallory Pugh in high school. She currently plays for our National team and won the World Cup in France.

Breeanne Moore- Language Arts, bmoore3@dcsdk12.org

This is my third year teaching at Castle Rock Middle School. I am a Colorado native, and grew up in the Littleton area. I attended Metropolitan State University of Denver, and have a degree in English with a concentration in Secondary Education. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, working on jigsaw puzzles, and completing whatever my newest arts and crafts project happens to be at the moment.

Courtney Kay- Wellness, ckay0@dcsdk12.org

This is my 15th year teaching and my 4th here at Castle Rock Middle School. I have two bachelors degrees in Physical Education and Health Education and a Masters degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion. I am originally from Rhode Island and taught High School for one year before moving to Florida and teaching middle and high school for 10 years. My husband works for Charles Schwab and when they asked him to move out here to CO, we jumped at the chance. We have loved exploring this state with our two french bulldogs and enjoy all the outdoor life living here has to offer.
