Knight Time
Knight Time is a dedicated academic support and enrichment period built into the weekly schedule at Castle Rock Middle School. This time allows teachers and staff to intentionally respond to student learning needs by providing targeted instruction, reinforcement of key skills, or opportunities to extend learning. The goal of Knight Time is to support student growth, strengthen academic skills, and build confidence across content areas.
During Knight Time, students participate in two 24-minute sessions. Student placements are determined using a combination of current learning data, teacher observations, and individual academic needs. Teachers and staff collaborate to design lessons and activities that address specific skills, provide additional practice, or offer enrichment and extension opportunities. Some students may work in short-term support groups, while others may engage in extension activities. Groupings are flexible and adjusted as student needs change over time.
Students are expected to actively participate during Knight Time by engaging in assigned learning activities, collaborating with peers, and working toward individual academic goals. Knight Time is not a permanent placement or track for any student; rather, it is a responsive structure designed to provide timely support and appropriate challenges so all students can continue to grow and succeed.
