Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Initiative

Our goal is for every student to have a computer to use throughout the school day.  We believe this level of access to technology is vital in preparing students for the world in which they live.  A Bring Your Own Device Initiative encourages students to move from textbook readers to worldwide researchers, empowers students to take control of their personalized learning, and enables students to use their understanding of technology for the betterment of their education.  CRMS BYOD Flyer

Why a Chromebook Is the Best Choice for Your Student

As students continue to grow in a digital learning environment, having the right device is essential. Douglas County School District and CRMS strongly recommend that students use a Chromebook.

  • Seamless Access to DCSD Systems
Chromebooks integrate directly with the DCSD network and online classroom tools.
  • Reliable Printing and Network Performance
Only Chromebooks can print to school printers and maintain the most stable, reliable connection to the DCSD Wi-Fi network.
  • Secure and Easy to Manage
Chromebooks automatically update for the latest security and performance improvements. They are secure, reliable, and designed to help your student succeed in our learning environment.
  • Required for DCSD Assessments
Students can only take DCSD assessments on a Chromebook. Testing platforms used by the district are optimized and secured for Chrome OS. Other devices will not support these required assessments.
