Our School
Castle Rock Middle School is a neighborhood school offering 7th and 8th grades. We take great pride in our school, our community and the education offered to all those that walk through our doors.
We offer a well-rounded education that not only focuses on our core classes of Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, but we also offer a robust selection of elective opportunities. Students are able to explore the Arts, several different languages as well as many different practical art and technology pathways.
Throughout this section of the website, you will find information on our instructional practices, philosophy as well as school activity and club offerings for our students.

Middle School Philosophy
Teaming
Students are placed on one of four academic teams for their core classes. (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) This team of 5-7 teachers (see our teams pages for the teachers) have the same students for all of these core classes. This allows this one team of teachers to get to know these students very well, both educationally and personally. Teams meet on a weekly basis with our counseling and administrative team to discuss supports to students, making sure they are getting exactly what they need for both their educational and social emotional needs.
The layout of the school supports this same philosophy. There is one team in each 'pod' of the school, allowing most of the core classes to be in the immediate vicinity of each other in the pod. Students travel outside of the pod primarily for lunch and their elective opportunities. Each team becomes a very close-knit community, essentially creating a school within a school.
Counseling and Administrative Support
We have counselors and administrators assigned to each team. These are adults for both students and parents to reach out to whenever they need anything for their student. All of these assignments are on the team pages. This provides great continuity for both the students as well as the parents.
Tour Our School
If you are interested and coming to see our school first hand, we offer school tours throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to come and see our school and let us answer all of those questions you have regarding middle school, our philosophy and the educational environment we create for our students.
We will also be able to share with you the different course offerings, clubs and athletics that are available to Castle Rock Middle School students. There are many great opportunities and we would like to share them all with you.
In order to schedule a tour, please reach out to our registrar, Alexis Castro.
